How do I extend the Expiration for an Automated Search?

Auto Searches in the BLC Listing Service expire after 180 days to keep the system operating most efficiently. Allowing searches to run without an expiration creates the potential for problems to occur such as notifications getting flagged as spam. This can lead to blacklisting of the sending email address and can cause errors to occur when sending emails to clients.

Additionally, high numbers of real-time search notifications create a resource load in the program which can slow down processing over time. Having a review process in place for searches to continue running or be turned off when no longer needed helps keep the system optimized for performance for all users.

When your search is nearing its expiration date, you will be notified by email in advance, but it’s not necessary to wait for the email prompt to adjust the expiration date.

To extend the expiration date, you can simply navigate to the Prospecting Manager using the magnifying glass/clock icon. Select the search(es) you’d like to extend, then click “Extend Expiration” and choose the time to extend from the drop-down menu.

You can also view saved searches and extend an expiration when searching. From the search criteria page, view your “Saved Searches” menu, select the search(es) and click “Extend.”

Select the extension time from the drop-down menu.
