What Can Licensed Assistants Do Within The Listing Service?


Licensed Assistants CAN perform any of the following:

1. Prepare promotional materials or advertisements without the review and approval of the
supervising broker.

2. Show real property.

3. Answer questions about listings other than those concerning list price, address, property
features, or geographic directions.

4. Discuss or explain a contract, listing, lease, agreement, or other real estate document with any
person outside the broker's broker company.

5. Conduct open houses.

6. Conduct telemarketing or telephone canvassing to schedule appointments in order to seek
listings.

7. Negotiate or agree to any commission, commission split, management fee, or referral fee on
behalf of a broker.

8. Prepare promotional materials or advertisements without the review and approval of the
supervising broker.

9. Answer questions about listings other than those concerning list price, address, property
features, or geographic directions.

10. Discuss or explain a contract, listing, lease, agreement, or other real estate document with any
person outside the broker's broker company.

11. Answer the phone, forward calls to a licensee, give out property features, addresses, directions
and list price.

12. Submit listings and changes to a BLC.

13. Assemble documents for closings.

14. Monitor licenses and personnel files.

15. Attend open houses with the licensee.

16.  Place and collect signs on property.

17. Compute commission checks.

18. Order items as directed by the licensee.

19. Type (not draft) contract forms for approval by the licensee and supervising broker.

20. Record deposits and advance rents.

The Licensed Assistant may have different permission levels granted by the Managing Broker.  
 A licensed assistant may have access to edit a branch office or an entire brokerages listings.  

Licensed Office Assistant/Manager-For any licensed assistant type:  
  1. BLCĀ® Account Access
  2. May have access to multiple branch offices (designated by the Managing Broker)
  3. BrokerBay access- Permissions can designated by managing broker.  Click here for instructions.  
  4. Has access to the office transactions
  5. Ability to use the office reporting functionality

Please note there is a fee for a Licensed Office Assistant.  A Licensed Office Assistant will pay the 
same fees as a REALTOR member since they can perform the same duties.
